The new SK500 BackSaver Hydraulic Auger by StoutKart has the power of a two-man auger but is designed for one-person operation. The back-saving tool can be operated either attached to the hitch of your vehicle, or by itself. Since it is only 32″ wide, imagine how easy it is to get through “tight” places.
The self contained auger system is a heavy-duty workhorse that is easy to control and move from job to job. It’s ideal for drilling holes for fence and sign posts, planting large plants and trees and even horizontal boring. The auger is mounted on the StoutKart BackSaver Kart, a patented ergonomic design that allows one person to transport heavy equipment without back strain.
The unique design incorporates a 6′ long, three-stage control arm that is attached to the cart and stabilizes the auger like a second person would. A winch is included for raising the drill head into the mounting block. The unit is powered by a 10.5- or 12.5-hp Briggs & Stratton engine with forward and reverse so you won’t get stuck with tree roots or rocks.
The 10.5-hp Heavy Duty Use Model comes equipped with 6″ auger drill, 6.2 gpm hydraulic pump, 130 rpm drill speed and pull start. The 12.5-hp Commercial Use Model has an 8.6 gpm pump which turns the auger at 156 rpm for faster digging, and is able to power other power tools from the base unit, such as a hydraulic jack hammer, compactor or other comparable tools.
