Terex Roadbuilding Debuts Three-Track Variable Width Paver At Bauma 2004

Terex Roadbuilding will feature its four-track CMI SF2204 HVW (Hydraulic Variable Width) concrete paver along with the unique “Millennium Dowel Bar Injector” (DBI) modular attachment at Bauma 2004 in Munich Germany, 29 March trough April 4.
The Hydraulic Variable Width slipform paver has the ability to change paving width in moments, quickly expanding from its minimum 2.4m (8 ft. 4 in.) width to its 6.10 m (20 ft.) paving configuration. The modular paving molds, mounted in tandem position, and connected to the machine’s sub-frame beams, use the paver’s mainframe telescoping action to quickly position the paving process to the new configuration.
The Millennium DBI attachment for the SF-2204 slipform paver employs unique technology in several respects. The DBI is front-mounted to the paver. Dowels are injected into the plastic concrete horizontally at the mid-point, beyond the zone of vibration influence. The concrete finishing is completed by the continuing process of the molds. Final surface finish is accomplished by an oscillating float finisher.
Terex Roadbuilding will also introduce at Bauma the never-before-seen three-track SF2003 curb & gutter and small utility slipform paver. The very agile SF-2003’s design provides a narrow, low-profile silhouette well suited for confined jobsites in both urban and highway projects.
The SF-2003 tractor features power-swing legs and power-steering for the 3-tracks enabling the operator to unlimited configurations for the machine. Power is supplied by a 59kW (80 h.p.) A Deutz air-cooled diesel engine driving hydraulic pumps supplies energy for three two-speed track drives, five hydraulic concrete vibrators and the paver’s automatically-controlled lift and steering system.
The available paving systems for the SF-2003 are all modular in design in keeping with the “Quick change” theme of the machine’s basic design. The curb and gutter forming system features the ability to change profile mold inserts in minutes. The “expandable paving” module features variability to lift the mold from the completed work without disassembly.
Terex Roadbuilding manufactures the world’s broadest line of concrete and asphalt equipment for paving streets, highways and airports. Terex Roadbuilding family of equipment also includes automated machines for all phases of roadway construction including preparation for paving (stabilization and trimming), maintaining (pavement profiling), recycling (hot and cold reclaiming) and bridge building.
Visitors at Bauma are invited to view the Terex Roadbuilding products manufactured in Europe and the U.S. at Bauma display stands F-704 & F-705.
