BARIN has developed a machine called Combi which can inspect both rail and road bridges. It is mounted on a Volvo truck chassis equipped with both rubber-tyred and flanged wheels. The vehicle is equipped with a bucket-type aerial platform which can work under and over bridges.
When working on the railway, the machine has a maximum horizontal reach under a bridge of 6.5m at a maximum depth of 9.85m. It has a maximum overhead reach of 10.15m.
Barin is currently building a Combi machine, the AB 12/10, for AnsaldoBreda for use on the Naples Metro. Barin.
