The Scaffold Industry Association (SIA) includes separate working councils devoted specifically to aerial platforms and mast climbing equipment activities. The overall objectives of SIA are to promote safety, work with governmental agencies to develop more effective safety standards, reduce accidents, and assist members in becoming more efficient and profitable in their businesses. SIA has nearly 1000 members.

Articulating boom handles rough terrain

The Z-80/60 articulating boom has a working height up to 86 feet, an outreach up to 60 feet, and an up-and-over clearance of 29 feet. To maximize productivity, the machine lets the operator ascend from the ground and descend from 80 feet with a single function of the primary boom. This machine works in rough or varied terrain.

Towers available in single and double wide configurations

Span and VX Base towers offer unlimited configurations of access. Span towers come single (29 inches) and double wide (54 inches) in 6-, 8-, or 10-foot component lengths; and feature a one-piece base component (6- or 8-feet long) that snaps out quickly. Although lightweight, the alloy structure of the components is extremely strong and durable enough to withstand the rigors of repeated use and harsh conditions on the construction site.

Hoist lifts heavy loads quickly

The MR-3003 Material Platform Hoist can travel up to 350 feet at 70 feet per minute with a 3000-pound load. The hoist is equipped with upper and lower limit switches, an over-speed device, and a spacious platform carriage (72-inches wide, 48-inches high, and 60-inch diameter). This rack-and-pinion hoist is easily transported between jobsites, and the unit only requires two people tot its erection.

Work platform serves light-duty jobs

The Max Climber 5770 work platform is a space efficient unit that is easy to transport. The mast climbing device features a double tower system with a lifting capacity up to 5700 pounds and is ideal for light-duty projects, including tuckpointing, EIFS, siding, glazing, and light restoration. The system contains a maximum platform length of 70 feet and has a maximum working height of 265 feet. It rises at a speed of 35 fpm and must be tied in at 20-foot intervals.

Machine performs two duties

The Transformer Machine Model TF6-42 does everything that a telehandler can plus be converted into an aerial work platform at the jobsite. Its rated telehander capacity is 6600 pounds and its rated aerial work platform capacity is 2000 pounds. The machine has a maximum telehander lift height of 42 and a maximum aerial platform working height of 49 feet.
