Terex Corporation is a diversified global manufacturer based in Westport, Conn. with 2001 annual pro forma revenues of $3.4 billion. Terex recently announced a new division, Terex Utilities, to serve the utility, tree care, telecommunications, and electrical construction industries as well as government agencies.

Terex Utilities is made up of Terex Telelect manufacturing, based in Watertown South Dakota, and is aligned with privately and company owned distribution channels to provide specialized local solutions. Terex Utilities’ goal is to provide customers with single source access to a variety of safe and reliable products and services to help improve their return on invested capital.

“Today the most common Terex name in the utility industry is Telelect,” said Joe Caywood, Terex Telelect marketing manager. Telelect is known for products such as digger derricks, Hi-Ranger aerial devices and tree trimmers, cable placers, and custom utility bodies. “The Telelect Network is formed by six distributors across the United States known for providing local support and relationships. Terex Utilities maintains all of the current network benefits and adds many more in the areas of financing, leasing, and asset recovery as part of Terex Financial Services as well as fleet management and other additional products and services,” Caywood added.

The additional Terex products offered through Terex Utilities include boom trucks, articulating cranes, rough terrain and truck cranes, loader backhoes, mini-excavators, articulated wheel loaders, light towers and generators. In addition, the distributors represent other independent product lines and back all products with local customer relationships and support.
