Altec’s Prevention & Product Safety department is pleased to announce the Altec SENTRY Program–professional operator safety training for tree care aerial devices. This program is an interactive, computer-based training aid designed to assist Altec’s customers in training their operators on Altec equipment. It contains both Altec recommendations and meets the formal requirements of OSHA and ANSI A92.2 2001. SENTRY Programs are available in two formats: Serf-directed training kits that include multiple-use programs installed on an individual computer and can guide operators through the comprehensive training program at their own pace using computer-based training, workbooks and evaluation sheets; and Instructor-led programs include computer-based training for the instructor to use in a classroom setting. Groups of operators are trained using workbooks, tests and evaluation sheets. Altec also conducts operator training and train-the-trainer classes at a customer’s location.
