Reading Truck Body. Overall improvements have enhanced the Aerotech II service body line. Tailgate strikers and rotary locking mechanisms are three times stronger than those on the original Aerotech. The cargo area holds 4×8-foot sheets of material, and the drop bulkhead protects the cab from cargo while allowing the driver full visibility. Ford Motor Co. The 2006 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups offer several new options and packages. Both models are available in regular cab, super cab, and crew cab body styles, and the F-350 is also offered in a dual-rear-wheel configuration for higher payload capacity. Knaack. Recently improved, the Weather Guard steel under-bed box promises enhanced security. New features include a stainless steel D-handle, a three-point latching system, and removable chain stays. Isuzu. The i-350 Crew Cab 4X4 packs a punch with a 3.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine with 220 horsepower and 225 foot-pounds of torque, and push-button, shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. Warn. With 16,500 pounds of pulling power, the 16.5ti winch has the highest capacity on the market today, the maker says. Thermometric technology gives the operator information about motor temperature during the winching operation. Highway Products. Touted as a “service body in a pickup,” the Pickup Pack includes a gull-wing saddle box, two lockable low-side boxes, a flat or domed center hatch, and a removable ladder rack. Dodge. Premium options, including a full-screen GPS navigation radio and a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, amplify the appeal of the 2006 Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 trucks. The trucks boast the most torque available in a production heavy-duty pickup, the maker says, and feature a towing capacity of 16,400 pounds and a payload of 5,020 pounds.
